What this project is about.
Leomar serves as director of photography on a feature documentary uncovering the history of more than 31,000 civilians of Japanese, German, and Italian ancestry — many forcibly taken from Latin America — who were imprisoned by the United States government as “enemy aliens” during World War II. The project connects this history to present-day immigrant-rights and civil-liberties movements.

From October 9–12, 2025 nearly 200 Japanese American and Japanese Latin American WWII incarceration survivors, their descendants, and allied communities traveled to San Antonio and Crystal City, Texas for the Crystal City Pilgrimage.
Where the work goes.
The documentary is being developed with a planned national impact campaign that may include community screenings and educational distribution.
